“There was no denying it – absolutely everyone who came to visit John agreed – it was simply the most beautiful penis that they had ever seen.”
This is the opening line of one of my short stories – Mightier Than His Sword – which no one wants to publish. Which is a shame as it would break the internet if The New Yorker would just see sense and give it the full Cat Person treatment.
It’s a very strange opening line. But, if anything, the story gets more strange after it. And it is also a parable for something else entirely, which may or may not be obvious.
